IN THE SERVICE OF LOVE

Snap!
He broke a stem
and severed the petals
from their sturdy roots.

Pluck!
He snatched a posy
from its tranquil
existence among the others.

Pick!
Another blossom fell to
His plundering digits
Joining its predecessors lying there.

Rip!
Yanking it up from
All its sisters,
Adding its presence to the bundle.

Hola!
He gazed with eyes of delight
Upon the havoc laying
At rest, in his hands.

Voila!
He proffered his offering
She accepted the bouquet
And kissed him on his cheek!

Grazie!
He returned her kiss with ardor
Clamped her slim and unfettered
Body next to his.

Zango!
His Valentine bouquet
Fell unremarked to the
Field of clover.

Alors!
Their bodies entwined
Souls enmeshed
Straining to reach unfathomable depths!

Huzzah!
Lying beside the bouquet
Smelling of love and clover
The sun slid below the horizon.
