One of Rev. Shannon's greatest desires was to provide scholarships to students who demonstrated academic
achievement, actively participated in church work and fellowship at
Greer Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church and displayed a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
1). The Scholarship initially will be a maximum of $ 200.00 per semester or quarter.
2). The funds must be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books only.
3). All checks will be paid directly to the educational institution in the name of the student.
4). Greer Chapel's high school students entering college and returning college students attending accredited U.
S. colleges or universities are eligible to apply.
5). The award is to be used for undergraduate study.
6). Applicants should have and maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher 0n a 4.0 scale.
7). Recipients who fail to continue to meet the eligibility requirements during the term of the scholarship period must
make repayment to the scholarship fund.
