It is possible that she DID emigrate to America. An insurance document belonging to her grandson dated 1904 lists her age at death as 69.
PATRICK KENNEDY was born in Ireland about 1851. He married Mary Anne Thompson June 3, 1878 at St. Patrick's Pro Cathedral in Newark, New Jersey. He died September 29, 1881 at his home at 310 Harrison avenue in Harrison, New Jersey. He is buried along with his wife and his two young children at Holy Sepulchre in Newark, New Jersey.
BRIDGET KENNEDY was born May 1852 in Ireland. She married Joseph Burke of Ireland at St. Patrick's Cathedral on October 20, 1881. They had no children. On the death of her husband in 1908, we lose track of her. She died December 29, 1917 of pneumonia. The death certificate says that she was a resident of the city hospital for the last 18 months of her life and that she had previously lived in the alms house in South Orange, New Jersey. The internment date is December 18 in the city cemetery, but the records at Holy Sepulchre states she was buried there next to her husband Joseph on December 13, 1918.

The 1895 New Jersey census lists him as Patrick Kennedy living in the house of his uncle James Atwell, by the 1900 census his name is George Kennedy. He married Mary Anne Higgins on June 18, 1902 at St. Joseph's Church in Newark. He died July 29, 1921. He is buried with his wife at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in East Orange, New Jersey.
