Islam is the Inherent religion of mankind revealed through creation by God,
the Creator. Islam is the Prophetic religion of mankind, taught by the
Messengers and Prophets of God, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad.
Islam is the Birthright religion of mankind; for every child is born in a state
of "Islam" i.e. in a state of submission to the Will of God, its
Maker. Islam, is striving to submit ones self spiritually and physically, ones
own will and judgment, to the Will and Judgment of God.
Islam is striving to attain Salaam (Peace), total and complete peace, harmony,
unity, and love with God the Creator, and His creation, which can only be
attained by accepting, believing and learning about:
1. Belief in His Oneness.
2. Belief in His Angels.
3. Belief in His Books.
4. Belief in His Prophets.
5. Belief in the Day of Resurrection.
6. Belief in the Day of Judgment.
7. Belief in the Premeasurement of all and good and evil.
And by accepting and practicing:
1. Belief in the One God and the Prophethood of Muhammad.
2. Making the Five (5) obligatory daily Prayers.
3. Paying the annual Poor Tax.
4. Fasting the month of Ramadan.
5. Pilgrimage to the Holy City Mecca.
This is the process by which one comes into a proper relationship with God.
La ilaha illa-llah, Muhammadar Rasulu-llah. There is no god but the One God,
Muhammad is the Messenger of the One God.
He is Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib, son of Hashim, of
the tribe of Quraysh. One of the Arab tribes of the descendants of Ishmael, the
son of Abraham (peace be upon them all).
He was born in Mecca, Arabia. He lived for sixty-three years, forty before his
mission, and twenty-three years as a Prophet and a Messenger. He was initiated
into the Prophethood by the revelation of these verses which were the first
portion of the Qur`an to be revealed: "Read! In the name of your Lord Who
Created. He created man out of a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most
Bountiful, He taught with the pen, He taught man what he had not known".
Born in Mecca in 570 A. D. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) became an orphan. He lost
his father before birth, and his mother passed away while he was still a child.
He had no tutor to teach him, so he was illiterate. The people among whom he
lived were ignorant, primitive, and vile. They used to worship stones and bury
their female-babies alive. Instead of falling as a natural victim under the
spell and magical power of the habits and practices of his people, Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh) shunned all kinds of evil and formed a character of his own.
Later, in a solitary cave, he devoted himself to meditation and worship until
the Word of Allah came to him in his solitude and ordered him to arise and
preach, and to perform his duty as the Prophet of Allah.
During the next 23 years, Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) teachings transformed the
meanest people on earth into one of the most civilized, who were soon ruling an
empire extending from Spain to Persia. This metamorphosis itself is enough
proof of Muhammad's Prophethood (pbuh).
The greatest proof that Muhammad (pbuh) was the Prophet of Allah is indeed the
Qur'an, which has a magical charm of its own, a charm which has swayed the
masses through all ages and times.
Today ISLAM is over 1400 years old and the number of its followers exceeds One
Billion scattered all over the world. Only a Prophet of Allah could have
exercised such an enduring influence on mankind.
