Standing Committees:
Standing committees are organized to accomplish the Foundation's programs of preservation
and education and are typically chaired by a Board member. Committees are open to all volunteer members who
wish to participate. Please contact the Foundation or Committee Chair to volunteer.
Ashtabula & Woodburn Site Committee - responsible for structural preservation projects, annual maintenance,
site planning and development curation and care of collections.
Chair: Tim Drake
Site Intrepretation & Education Committee - responsible for intrepreting the houses
in their historic setting, house tours, volunteer training and scheduling and developing projects to educate school
children about plantation culture, the houses and their former owners.
Chair: Ellen Harrison
Finance & Planning Committee - responsible for developing long range and annual financial and organizational
plans and budgets, grant development, financial oversight for other committee actdivities, financial reporting and stewartship
for the Foundation.
Chair: Susan McClure
Programs, Special Events and Marketing Committee - responsible for organizing historic
reenactments and other special events held on the grounds of Ashtabula and Woodburn and the related publicity, gife
shop sales, and site and grounds marketing.
Co-Chair: Davie Kirkley
Historic Pendleton Committee - responsible for community outreach on historic preservation issues including
providing education and assistance on development of preservation and conservation easements on historic structures, available
state tax credits, grant opportunities for historic preservation. This committee works with related organizations
on a local and state-wide level to provide education on historic preservation to the community on these issues.
