The grounds of Woodburn and Ashtabula Historic Homes in Pendleton provide the perfect setting for outdoor weddings with historic flair.  Each house has a large open lawn to accomodate tents and tables.  Adequate parking is available on the grounds and/or entry roads.  Each house has a small kitchen and outside electrical outlets to accomodate caterers. Due to the age and value of the furnishings, the interiors are not generally available for rental but can be used as a background for bridal pictures.  Self-guided or guided tours can be arranged during the reception so that guests can enjoy the interiors of the house.

• Woodburn is a graceful four-story clapboard house conviently located just off US76 across from TriCounty Technical College.  The house has double wraparound piazzas on the west side and a single piazza on the east side.  These piazzas are picture-perfect settings for wedding receptions. The Victorian carriage house is an ideal venue for a wedding ceremony.  This site easily accomodates both large and small weddings.  Woodburn has new public restrooms on the grounds as well.
• Ashtabula is a charming two-story clapboard house situated on 10 acres of open ground.  It is located approximately three miles east of Pendleton on SC Highway 88 (2725 Old Greenville Hwy - Central) and about a mile west of Mile 18 Rd.  It is best suited for smaller weddings but can accomodate larger weddings as well.  The house has a first-floor wraparound piazza on the west and south sides.  It has a lovely patio area in back of the house and herb garden on the side.  The long private drive that winds through the grounds is ideal for a horse drawn carriage ride to and from the front gate.  Ashtabula has new public restrooms in the main house.
