·         The entrance easement to the cemetery is at 21410 Morton Road, Richmond, TX 77469.  Directions to this location can be obtained from MapQuest (http://www.mapquest.com/ ) or other source.  Use the above address to locate the cemetery.

  • The cemetery entrance gate is at the north end of the private drive and serves as entrance to both the Dr. Johnson Hunter Cemetery and to the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, which is just west of the Hunter cemetery and several hundred feet north of the entrance.  Open the gate and enter – please respect property rights of adjacent owners and park vehicles inside the cemetery – not on our neighbor’s property.
  • Section I is the southernmost approximately 100 ft after you enter.  This is where the Dr. Johnson C. Hunter’s family graves are located..  The earliest known burials in Section I are 1831 (unmarked infant grave) and 1844 (Johnson & Martha’s son John Calhoun Hunter).
  • Section II is the remaining portion of the cemetery and includes more than 50 graves of neighbors and friends of the Johnson Hunter family.   The earliest known burial in Section II is 1866.
  • The Southwest cemetery corner is at N29°39.927, W-95°45.220, with the gate just east of there.
  • The Southeast corner is at N29°39.927, W-95°45.169
  • The Northwest corner is at N29°40.024, W-95°45.222
  • The Northeast corner is at N29°40.006, W-95°45.182
  • This cemetery does not have permanent maintenance.  Please come prepared for possible high weeds and exercise caution regarding insects, snakes or other possible hazards.  Help in mowing around graves, either physically or by contributions, would be appreciated.  Please contact  if you would like to help with maintenance of this historic cemetery.
