Svadhyaya Yoga combines the elements of contemporary body-mind
psychology with Hatha Yoga. It is unique because it's focus is on the individualization
of the practice of Yoga. The intention of Svadhyaya Yoga is to advance each student's
understanding of the self and to promote the integration of body, mind, and spirit.
This system is highly individualized. Each student’s intuitive power is maximized. Alicia
will guide you to discover the best way for you to practice asana (postures), utilize the breath and direct the focus inward. Alicia takes into account the unique qualities of each student in each moment supporting
you in your journey of self discovery and sharing ways in which Yoga can improve the quality of your life.
There are many systems of Yoga practiced in our country today. Regardless of the system or style students study, they will find themselves in
the inevitable experience of discovering and unfolding their own unique style because each body resonates with the Divine
Source in its own unique way. No two people will experience Yoga in the same
way. Nor will any two individuals attain the same benefits or ultimate results.
Svadhyaya Yoga is unique because its intention is to cultivate
and validate the individualization of the Yoga experience through careful guidance and query.
Alicia will support each student’s development of witness consciousness, acceptance and, ultimately, resonance
through non-judging exploration and discussion of their discoveries. Therefore,
every Syadhyaya Yoga session will be different. Each student will be perceived
as an individual and asanas (postures) will be custom designed for each student.
Whether your are a beginning student looking to experience the benefits
of Yoga for the first time or an advanced student looking to deepen your practice, Svadhyaya Yoga is for you. In turn each student can bring their new understanding into the studio and utilize their new awareness
in any group classes they wish to participate in.
