Alicia continues to further her Yoga training and is in the process
of obtaining her Registered Yoga Teacher Certification at the 500 hour level in Svadhyaya Yoga as well as a certification
in Thai Yoga Massage.
Alicia teaches in Studios, Wellness Centers and Health
and Athletic Clubs. She also continues to work in theatre both as a performer
and a choreographer. She sings with the Annapolis Chorale and Chamber Chorus
and has performed with The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, Colonial Players, the Young Victorian Theatre Company and Teatro
Lirico d'Europa. She has also worked with Broadneck High School and The Royal
AcademyBallet School in Annapolis.
Alicia is involved in the arts both behind the scenes and on
the stage. She is currently on the Board at Colonial Players working as a member of
the Artistic team. As a past Board Member of the Annapolis Chorale she wass an integral part of the fundraising
and development committee and serves as an Event Chairman for many of their fundraising events.
Alicia began her movement studies in 1986. She began studying ballet and modern dance and eventually went on to receive a B.F.A. in Dance from Emerson
College in Boston, Massachusetts where she was recognized for excellence both regionally and nationally by the American
College Dance Festival Association. While attending Emerson she was fortunate
to participate in residencies with the Independent Company of Alla Sigolova (Russia) and Eiko and Koma (Japan).
Alicia went on to present her choreography throughout the United
States. While living in Seattle, she worked with several dance companies including Dance on Capitol Hill, Olympic Ballet Theater
and Seattle Contemporary Ballet Center. Several of her works with OBT were chosen for the Regional Dance America Festival
and she was selected as Artist in Residence at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
In addition to presenting and promoting her own choreography, Alicia
co-founded a non-profit organization committed to supporting pro-active, self-producing artists. She has been involved behind
the scenes with dance organizations such as The Firehouse Studio, Ivy Presents, The White Oak Dance Project and The Pacific
Northwest Ballet, working successfully in fundraising, development and promotion.
Alicia took a one-year sabbatical and lived in England studying
dance, traveling and creating new choreographic works for musical theatre and modern dance companies as well as working in
fitness centers.
Upon returning to the United States Alicia attained a Primary Fitness
Certification from the American Fitness and Athletic Association and began teaching in Health Clubs bringing her knowledge
of dance, pilates, and Yoga to a more mainstream clientele.
