Director of the Virtual Learning Center (Sylvan Learning Systems)

Oversees the general operations of the VLC.  Promotes growth and new development to insure profitability. Instrumental in proactive/strategic planning for expansion of the department. Establishes and maintains relationships with clients. Establishes a high level of staff morale and spirit for staff and supporting groups.  Demonstrates a positive rapport and genuine concern for participants and programs.  Responsible for enrollment of new clients. Conferencing with Parents. Recommending appropriate programs for students.  Monitors weekly budget reports.  Meets with accounting department on a regular basis to ensure financial success and accountability of the VLC. Meet with other department mangers (education, tech support, accounting, training, National Contact Center) ensuring seamless, high quality experience for the parents and students on all levels of the program.  Meets with Senior Management when requested to insure open communication concerning VLC progress and profitability.  Attends Conferences and travels both domestically and internationally when needed to further expand VLC. Pilot projects for new business development. Meet budget goals and sales incentives.

 

Natural Healing Wellness Center Annapolis, Maryland                                 2005 - 2006

Director and Yoga Instructor

Responsible for total operations and maintenance of all aspects for NHWC mission to improve the health and well-being of our community.  Supervised all employees and operations including business planning, new business development, community outreach, educational programming, marketing, accounting, employee relations as well as teach regular Yoga classes.  Initiated changes and improvements to the entire facility from Retail layout to employee’s responsibilities and duties.  Recruited 25 new employees and doubled revenues and services provided to our clientele within a 3 month period.  Managed and motivated staff to support the success of the entire operation. Implemented a new point of sale system and updated technology for the center. Updated customer client database. Established relationships with local business associations and the Chamber of Commerce to promote health and wellness in the business community. NHWC offers Yoga, TaiChi,  Feldenkrais ATM, therapeutic massage, acupuncture and naturopathic medicine. 

 

Ridgely Retreat  Annapolis, Maryland                                                                 2004 - 2005

Operations Manager/ Yoga Instruction

Responsible for general operations and administration of this healing arts and wellness center offering Yoga, TaiChi, Qi Gong, NIA, Hawaiian Dance, therapeutic massage and acupuncture.  Oversee daily operations, promotions, customer service, advertising as well as teach regular Yoga classes.  Generated new clientele and increased membership by 50 %.  Organized and streamlined the structure of the business.  Created new website.

 

Clarins Cosmetics, Paris, France                                                                         1999 - 2004

 Account Manager/Analyst - Saks Fifth Avenue, Chevy Chase, Maryland

Managed and increased the Clarins business at Saks Fifth Avenue (+25%) Created and implemented special events and sales plans.  Organized and ordered inventory. Educated and trained sales associates on product knowledge.

Regional Sales/Instructrice – Dillards Department Stores, Atlanta, Georgia

Achieved a 64% increase in sales. Training business managers and sales associates, reinforcing product knowledge and organizing special events in six stores in Georgia and Alabama. Monitored and exceeded monthly, seasonal and yearly sales goals, communicated and acted as a liaison between Dillards and Clarins corporate offices.

Business Manager/Sales – Hecht’s Department Store, Annapolis, Maryland

Increased sales over 50% within an eight-month period. Planned special events to introduce new customers to Clarins products. Maintained superior customer service. Motivated and trained counter staff.

 

Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle, Washington                                             1995 - 1998

Fundraising and Corporate Development

Raised over $250,000.00 for the Pacific Northwest Ballet by contacting local patrons and businesses for financial support. Educated the local dance community. Developed a larger audience and season subscription base for present and future ballet performances.

Assistant Manager of Campaign Services

Responsibilities include training new staff, managing shifts, daily income reports, customer service, liaison between subscription sales office and box office, organize lead base for sales staff. Support the Director of Campaign Services in all marketing and development projects.

Co-Director of a local non-profit arts organization committed to supporting pro-active, self-producing artists. Responsibilities include financial administration, scheduling, maintenance and public relations.

 

Thomson Financial Networks, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts                     1988 -1992

Sales and Marketing Assistant (Full time and Part time throughout college)

Organized the corporate division, managing client databases, contracts, weekly sales reports, mailings and interface with the brokerage community. Assisted and coordinated the operations of eight salesmen, including all correspondence and client orders. Monitored the stock market regularly for accurate prices to upgrade client products.
