GUARDIAN SUPER CATALINA The 100-foot high speed passenger ferry is derived from the design of the "Guardian Fast Patrol Craft" hull form. We have named this vessel the "Guardian Super Catalina." It also is known as the "Catalina Channel Express II," hulls #8501 and #8502.

This information is based on the configuration of an order delivered to Catalina Express, Inc., a company which operates daily passenger ferry service between Los Angeles and the offshore Catalina Island.

Some items/comments and specifications may appear to be restrictive, when in fact they are simply meeting the requirements of this Company. For example:

a. The vessel's capacity is not limited to only 149 passengers. This vessel provides a luxury tourist service. The vessel can accommodate substantially more passengers, up to 230 seated and 20 more standing, for a total of 250 passengers;

b. "Coastwise Service" is defined by the U.S. Coast Guard's standards for emergency life saving equipment, as applied to the use requirements of Catalina Express, Inc.;

c. All interior seats, amenities and arrangements will be provided;

d. A modification can be made to carry two but, probably no more than four small pick up trucks (a small adjustment in price will be made to accommodate this feature).

e. Although the Guardian Fast Patrol Craft has speeds in excess of forty knots, the speed of the Catalina ferry was limited to 35 knots, to assure passenger comfort.

The full price of this vessel to the customer is US $3,400,000. One item not included in this price is the stabilizer system. If this system is desired, add US $230,000 to the purchase price.
