INTERDEVCO is an acronym for the International Development Company. INTERDEVCO & Associates was formed in 1968 by an Association of classmates at the Harvard Business School and Alumni from the U.S. Naval Academy. The goal of the Association is to develop advanced technological innovation in a number of fields and to export it worldwide.
Over the years, as members of the Association went their separate ways, management was assumed by Captain Theodore V. Fekula, USN, Ret.. INTERDEVCO then became a propietorship and is a closely held private company, with headquarters in Nuevo, California. It is registered in Riverside, California and Dallas, Texas. INTERDEVCO currently has eight Operating Groups as follows:
In addition to exporting consumer products and trading commodities on its own account, INTERDEVCO U.S. Trading & Export Group manages the overseas business affairs, contracting and contract administration for other operating groups. INTERDEVCO U.S. Trading Group is responsible for international marketing.
In this capacity, the Group established an international network of "Associates" in over forty countries. INTERDEVCO's goal is to have world wide market coverage. INTERDEVCO's overseas "Associates" are authorized to operate on behalf of INTERDEVCO, in accordance with the terms of their individual country agreements.
Current overseas activities on behalf of operating groups are concentrated on marketing products of the Energy Group and the Maritime Group. Emphasis has been on Middle East, South Asia and Pacific Rim markets, as well as the ten Big Emerging Markets.
Our "Associates" in the Energy Group include EPS Consultants, Inc., of Colorado Springs, Colorado, who specialize in dismantling petroleum oil refineries, refurbishing and modernizing them for global marketing and sales. EPS also assembles "Oil Field Gathering Centers".
Another of our energy Associates is Intercontinental Support Services Ltd. of Dallas, Texas, who are in the business of oil field exploration, drilling, gathering, pipeline operation and services. In conjunction with Science Applications International, we upgraded pipeline control of the Supervisory Control and Acquisition Data (SCADA) East West Pipeline for Saudi ARAMCO.
Currently our Energy Group is preparing to participate in construction of oil field gathering centers in the Mid East, negotiating for sale of refineries to customers operating from the United Arab Emirates and conducting preliminary discussions for a "Topping Plant" and "Reformer" in South Asia.
Our Energy Group is initiating exploratory discussions with coal mining companies, such as Fluor (Massey Coal Company) and ARCO (ARCO Coal Division, Black Thunder Mine), two of the largest coal mining operations in North America, in anticipation of developing large overseas coal fields. Our Investment Group is in the process of arranging development financing for this enterprise.
INTERDEVCO Maritime Group Associates include: Guardian Marine International, Ind,, Edmonds, Washington; Jack W. Sarin Naval Architects, Inc., Bainbridge Island, Washington; Westport Shipyard, Inc., Grays Harbor, Washington; Newport Technologies, Ltd., Newport, Rhode Island; and Specialized Systems, Inc., Mystic, Connecticut. Our Associates design and construct sturdy, high technology, high speed vessels.
Our Technology Group conducted a manufacturing technology project for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Work was performed for Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation, Lockheed, Rockwell and Science Applications International. Management was provided in support of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces Command and Control system and for the Royal Saudi Air Force Air Defense Command and Control system "Peace Shield".
Our Real Estate Group with our Associate, United Support and Services Company, contracted with the U.S. Air Force to house the U.S. Central Command Headquarters personnel in safe living compounds, moving out of hotels which were exposed to terrorist attack, during Operation Desert Shield. Currently, we are engaged with our Associate Alexandre Athias in arranging financing for construction of 20,000 dwelling units in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Our Investment Group responds to special requests from our overseas customers, who seek a safe haven for their money. Through our Finance Associate, Cambridge Trading Services Corporation, we offer to arrange pre-export trade transaction financing to exporters of limited size, experience or credit worthiness.
INTERDEVCO is a member of the "Manufacturers Agents National Association" and provides "Export Management Company" assistance to U.S. manufacturers seeking to broaden their markets overseas. The INTERDEVCO U.S. Purchasing Group provides purchasing services of U.S. products for overseas customers.
