Script Analysis/Playreading
Wednesdays 7-9 pm, June 25-July 23
Study two or more plays through guided
text analysis, group reading, discussion and reviews. Learn how a director approaches
a play for production. Instructor: Kelly Wynn Woodland
Acting/Scene Study
Monday & Thursday
7-9 pm, June 23 - July 24
Study, develop and perform scenes. Participate in a performance on Saturday, August 9.
Learn how an actor should create a character and communicate intentions clearly in a scene. Instructor: Kelly Wynn
Woodland.
Improv Workshop
Monday-Thursday 7-9 pm, July 28 - August 7
Learn and develop
improvisation techniques. Participate in a performance on Saturday, August 9. Learn what skills help and actor think on his feet and build ensemble interaction.
Instructor: Patrick Johnson
Age 16 - adult only. No experience necessary.
$50 per class. Class size limited to 20, so sign up now.

Most area residents will recognize the name Kelly Wynn Woodland as an outstanding instructor, director
and actor in the Manatee/Sarasota area. Island Players has been fortunate to
have her direct many productions including Greetings, Smell of the Kill, Blithe Spirit, A Flea in Her Ear, The Dining Room,
Dearly Departed, 37 Postcards, Dancing at Lughnasa, Moon Over the Brewery, Crimes of the Heart, The Foreigner and Guest in the House. For six years, she also directed the summer
season of comedies of William Shakespeare. Patrick Johnson is
a professional actor, director and instructor from the Orlando area. Patrick has been with Disney MGM Studios,
Walt Disney World, Tales O’the Sea, Theater in the Ground and On Edge Touring Company.
He has extensive training and experience in improvisational performance.
