Welcome to the Central New York Chapter of Izaak Walton League of America

Welcome to the Central New York chapter of Izaak Walton League of America. We are dedicated to conserve, maintain, protect, and restore our natural resources: soils, forests, water, air, and wildlife. Our chapter activities promote and encourage youth and adult education with respect to those resources.

Here are some of the things we do and/or support to further that mission:

Participate in Project Watershed, which provides aquatic resource education, equipment, and volunteers to promote local watershed awareness and protection.

Participate in the Onondaga Lake Partnership, working towards cooperative solutions to Onondaga Lake's myriad of environmental issues.

Participate in the Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs events, including educational outreach at the annual Family Sportsmen's Day

Membership in the NYS Conservation Council

Sponsor the annual Onondaga Lake and Hiawatha Lake Fishing Derbies

Sponsor conferences on major environmental issues that affect our community

Friends of the Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery

Engage local, state, and national agencies on issues threatening central New York's natural resources

Work closely with the New York Forest Owner's Association to promote resource stewardship and conservation goals.

Chapter Meetings

We usually meet on the second Tueday of each month at 7 PM, September through May. Our regular meeting location is the Fayetteville-Manlius Road and Gun Club, on Whetstone Road in Manlius just off Route 92. Here's a map, courtesy of Mapquest. Please join us for a meeting!
