When reserving a truck, you have to be careful chooseing who you rent with. My clients continue to report
a great deal of problems with U-Haul. From what I hear, the customer service continues to be way below average,
the trucks are inferior to their counterparts at other firms and I have heard of problems with unexplained charges.
Unfortunately U-haul has the largest fleet of moving trucks in the area. If you are moving during a peak
time (end of the month), you may have no other option but to rent with them. If you do choose to rent with
them, I strongly advise the following:
- Make sure you have a printed rental confirmation sheet.
- Confirm the reservation a few days before the day of your move.
- Go in to the rental office first thing on the morning of your move, since they have a reputation for overbooking their
trucks.
How much to tip the movers is one of the most common questions I am asked. As someone in the moving industry, I am not very
objective with regards to this topic. Moving is one of, if not the hardest service industry job there is and tipping, at least
something is a must. The question then becomes, how much?

To try and answer this question objectively I have included
independent guidelines on tipping below. I have also included a link to where I found the information, as I think it is a
valuable resource. Note: To find the section on tipping movers, scroll down approximately three fifths of the page and find
the section 'Tipping Movers'. I hope this helps!
