On Sunday, August 31. myself and Jim Moran participated in the 3rd Annual Memorial Run in Memory of Ct. State Trooper,
Don Frederick. I met up with Jim at the Dunkin Donuts on Rt. 32 in Uncasville. Jim's wife Judy has her own bike.
She is just now getting back into motorcycling and did a great job.
A small group of us (with the New London Motorcycle Club) made our way to the muster point at the Mobil station
across from Troop E. Traffic was a mess N/B on 395 because of rolled over TT. The entire event was
delayed about one hour to allow those attending to make their way through traffic.
The Connecticut State Police did a terrific job again in escorting an estimated 200 motorcyclist on a forty mile loop
through Montville, Salem, East Haddam, Old Lyme and eventually to ending at Burkes Tavern (a blues bar...very cool).
We were treated to a great lunch and got to look at some very nice machines in the parking lot. It was a fantastic
ride!!
PS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RIDE LATELY, A REMINDER THAT WE HAVE AN IMPORTANT EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 14.
(SEE ABOVE) THE RIDING SEASON HAS A FEW MORE WEEKS LEFT...TRY TO ATTEND AT LEAST ONE EVENT IF YOU CAN. John
Yesterday evening, yours truly along with Mark Coleman, Bob Zahansky, and Rod Marion (and their wifes) rode up to the
northern side of Massachusetts and joined our friends from Mass . Chapter Three. We then rode as a group of about thirty
bikes to the Colonial Hotel in Gardner where we enjoyed an all you can eat buffet outdoors under a tent. Live entertainment
was provided. The food was good but the ride was great! Over 200 hundred miles during a very nice evening ride.
