Five of us from the Chapter spent the weekend at the Best Western Hotel in Auburn for the Fall Conference. (See
also, the NEC website for more information):
http://home.earthlink.net/~silverbullet3/nec/PublicContent/whatsnew.htm )The weather was fantastic! Our president attended the business meeting and learned that the Spring Conference
will be held in Portland Maine and the Fall of 2004 Conference will be held in Montreal. (Any conference in Canada has
always been special!) Please make a note on your calendar!
Saturday morning started off with a very nice breakfast. Saturday afternoon we enjoyed a ride of a little over
100 miles to an ice cream place. It was one of the best group rides that I have been on! Saturday night's
banquet was highlighted by Bob Z winning a 50/50 raffle and Art's motorcycle winning a special prize.
After the banquet, we spent some time in the lounge enjoying cocktails and entertainment.
Attending conferences is one of the benefits of being a member of this great organization. We will send out the
information for the next one when it comes in.
American Cancer Society Benefit ride report: 47 bikes escorted by Connecticut State Police, Eastern Connecticut
State University Police, and UConn Police. We all braved rain and wet roads but the blue sky was peaking out at the
start. The Pink Flamingos did a fantastic job in obtaining food donations and preparing the BBQ chicken for a large
group. This was a fantastic event and one that we hope to have annually. I hope to post some
pictures very soon!
