On January 24, 2004, our breakfast meeting took place at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Art will be filling out paperwork
for us to obtain tax exempt status so we can raise money for our chapter. Once this is approved, we will be able
to purchase berets which we plan to sell to Blue Knight members of other chapters. We already have a sales permit issued
by the international office.
We plan to once again support the Relay for Life/American Cancer Society with a benefit motorcycle ride next September.
This is a major event for our chapter. We hope to firm up on the date so that we can include the information in the
riding events calendar published by Trantolo and Trantolo.
We spoke briefly about making it known to honorary members that there participation in club activities assures them they
will continue to maintain their membership. We can only have 10 percent of our membership as "honorary members"
(not law enforcement) officers. We have had several people request membership as honoraries but are precluded because
of the 10 percent rule.
Information pertaining to the Spring Conference (to be held in Portland Maine) as well as a copy of the Northeast Conference
newsletter was provided to all attendees. Dennis is working on a ride schedule and should have it nearly complete by
the next meeting.
