Greetings to All,
The following is my report to our membership detailing chapter X's participation in the 2004 Conference
nord-est. This years conference was attended by Angelo Sorvillo, Bob Zahansky, Dennis Tetreault, Art Richardson, Paul Poissant,
and Charlie Leveille. On Friday 17 September at 1000hrs, we rendezvoused in Brattleborough VT and set out for Montreal via
I-91 arriving at 1700hrs. We checked in at the Wandlyn Hotel, a comfortable hotel with VERY secure motorcycle parking in the
rear. Our crew settled in and took advantage of the hospitality suite. Afterwards we wandered across the street to the mall
and had dinner at a nice little steak house. There, we shared a relaxing meal and then a stroll through the mall to compare
any fashion differences between America and Canada. Having satisfied our curiosity we returned to the hotel and retired for
the evening.
Day 2 found us at breakfast by 0730. Afterwards we split up, Bob and Charlie attended the presidents
meeting while the rest of us set and manned our beret sales table. Unfortunately sales were a bit dissappointing even though
there was a lot of interest and our berets greatly admired. We did realize a profit for our club. The crew returned to the
steak house for lunch then mounted up for a escorted ride through Montreal. The sights were picturesque reminding me of coastal
Maine. After a brief stop for ice cream we returned to the hotel, cleaned up, socialized, and wandered into the banquet. After
a wonderful leisurely meal, some of us went into the city to see the sights.
Day 3 we enjoyed an early breakfast then checked out, said our goodbyes and saddled up. We were "in
the wind" by 0900 on a clear but brisk day. We decided to travel home on a different route moving south on Autoroute 15 to
I-87 through upstate New York. This was really a VERY picturesque route, we climbed some mountains that made you feel like
a bird.....honestly sometimes it looked like you could reach out and touch the blue sky! We got off the highway in Troy and
crossed into Vermont on route 9, following route 112 into Massachusetts. We picked up I-91 in Greenfield and continued south
to Connecticut.
This was really a great trip, very scenic and even thought it was cold......we had wonderful weather.
I had a terrific time and think everyone else did too.
Respectfully Submitted,
Angelo Sorvillo, Secretary Blue Knights CT-X
