I found my Model-A by advertising in a local newsletter that only reaches about 250 people. To my surprise, one week later, a received a call from a neighbor that lives two blocks away. He told me he had a 1928 Fordor Leatherback he was willing to sell, along with extra parts. "The car", he said, "was ninety-five to ninety-seven percent complete, but, needs a complete frame on up restoration. . . ." I was happy to hear this news, just what I had in mind. There is minimal surface rust, and one inch by eight inches wide rust-through at base of cowl on the left and right sides. 

After examining the car and having done a little research on the Internet(Hot Links) and after talking to a few people, I decided to make the commitment and the purchase was made. 

The previous owner gave me a little background on the car. He said the car was assembled in Texas, went across the border into Mexico for a while, then back into Texas. He informed me that a friend purchased the car in the 1970's where it sat basking in the Texas sun. Finally, my neighbor obtained the car in 1987, then transported it from Texas to Virginia. The car sat at this location until I purchased it in December of 1997. 

What a great start! I now have a little history on the car that could help me in the Identification process.
