"WHEN EAGLES
FLY"
Thousands
died.........Millions cried
On the day Terror came from the sky
Terrorists,
you crossed over the line...
You
messed with a country united this time!
AMERICA'S
differences will be cast aside
And
you will rue the day.........................
THE
EAGLES FLY!!!!!
Fires still burn where terror struck
Smoke still hovers in the skies
But let the world make no mistake
The eagle still proudly flies
The rescue and clean up have begun
Each continuing till the end
As presidents and politicians
Separate enemies from friends
As a nation shocked and saddened
We prepare ourselves for war
And no one has a single doubt
Just what we're fighting for
Flags have vanished off store shelves
To reappear most everywhere
Antennas, porches, and billboards
As America shows the world we care
The country has come together
In a way we never have before
As shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand
We face what the future holds in store
Waving flags and singing anthems
With candles shining near and far
The "UNITED STATES" is suddenly
Exactly what we are
Old Glory flies above us
The Eagle soars higher still
No one else in all the world
Can match our courage and our will
Ahead lies much uncertainty
Many more may lose their lives
But of one thing there is no doubt
America WILL survive!!
- Dusty Tincher
The USA will always grieve
The clear September morning
When our country changed forever
Without a clue or warning
Explosions, fires, belching smoke
Billowing from two landmark towers
Marked the beginning of what's become
America's darkest hours
Two planes destroyed the World Trade Center
And as the giant structures fell
A third attacked the Pentagon
Plunging our nation into hell
Thousands missing in the dust and ash
Americans glued to TV screens
Commerce, flight and even crime
Froze as we took in each awful scene
Of rescue workers, firemen,
Police and engineers
Generals and politicians,
Blood donors and volunteers
Our nation's heart is broken
As together we mourn and grieve
Until anger overcomes the sadness
Aimed at those who murder and deceive
This horror brought us all together
And as we prepare to turn the page
The terrorists have nowhere to hide
As our grief hardens into rage
Their so-called Holy War is over
They'll pay for what they've done
For they've attacked the Red, White & Blue
And those colors NEVER run!!

From a Canadian newspaper, it's worth sharing.
America: The Good Neighbor.
Widespread but only partial news coverage was
given recently to a remarkable
editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a
Canadian
television
commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant
remarks as printed
in
the Congressional Record:
"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak
up for the Americans as the
most
generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the
earth.
Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent,
Britain and Italy were lifted out of
the
debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of
dollars and forgave
other
billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying
even the interest on
its
remaining debts to the United States.
When France was in danger of collapsing in
1956, it was the Americans
who
propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and
swindled on the
streets
of Paris. I was there. I saw it. When earthquakes hit distant
cities, it is
the
United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59
American communities
were
flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.
The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped
billions of dollars
into
discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are
writing about
the
decadent, warmongering Americans.
I'd like to see just one of those countries
that is gloating over the erosion of
the
United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other
country in the
world
have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed
Tri-Star, or
the
Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them?
Why do all the International lines except
Russia fly American Planes? Why
does
no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on
the moon?
You
talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk
about
German
technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American
technocracy,
and you find men on the moon - not once, but several times -
and safely
home
again. You talk about scandals,
and the Americans put theirs right in the
store
window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are
not pursued
and
hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them,
unless they
are
breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma
and pa at home
to
spend here.
When the railways of France, Germany and India
were breaking down
through
age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the
Pennsylvania
Railroad
and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old
caboose.
Both
are still broke.
I can name you 5000 times when the Americans
raced to the help of other
people in trouble. Can you name me even one
time when someone else raced
to
the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help
even during
the
San Francisco earthquake.
Our neighbors have faced it
alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired
of
hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this
thing with their
flag
high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose
at the lands
that
are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not
one of those."

Let's Pull
Together
It's times like
this when we realize just how precious life is.
Let's cherish every
breath and be thankful for the life we live.
Let's no longer
take freedom for granted.

Let's pray for
everyone who lost a loved one,
and give thanks for all those who survived.
Let's
praise the brave firemen, firewomen, policemen, policewomen,
the doctors, the nurses, the EMTs, and the other everyday
heroes
who rose to the occasion and helped,
some risking their lives and others losing their lives.

Let's
trust and support our President and our government
as they redeem our country and defend the freedom
that this great nation was founded upon.
It
was something we never thought we'd see
It could never happen to you and me
An
attack against all civilization
An attack that shocked our nation
Four
airliners, all hijacked
A precise and planned attack
Fueled
by evil, a merciless crime
The worst terrorist act of all time
The
World Trade Center towers
Symbols of our financial power
Crumbling,
falling, cascading down
Concrete and debris, hitting the ground
So
many families torn apart
A tragedy felt in all of our hearts
If
we're ever to overcome this devastation
We must pull together as a nation
To
the victims' families, we send our prayers and love
As we seek guidance and hope from the Lord above
May
God bless you and your loved ones.
