Junzo Nojima and Stamford's Cherry Trees: A Kamishibai Presentation
Junzo watering a cherry tree
"Cherry trees can't absorb water in this way!" Junzo couldn't stand it any longer and did it over again by himself. Everyday, he drew water from the river with a bucket and watered the saplings carefully during the breaks in his business. He took care of the cherry trees diligently on his own for three years. Generally, it is said that a cherry tree gets acclimated to the soil and grows naturally three years after being planted as a young sapling.
