Kamishibai presentation on Genjiro
Enter Art Student League in NY
In February 1895, Genjiro quit his sales job at Arita Porcelain and entered the Art Student League of New York to become a painter. The school is still in the same location. Various artists studied in the school; painters, wall painters, and illustrators. Genjiro learned European style painting from different teachers, such as Robert Blum and John H. Twachtman.
