Kamishibai presentation on Genjiro
Exhibitions in Buffalo, Boston & Detroit
Genjiro launched his career by sending works, mainly watercolors, to exhibitions in Buffalo, Boston, Detroit and farther afield. The titles of these works suggested American Impressionist themes and a Cos Cob setting. In 1898 Genjiro attracted critical notice in an article. This attention may have been equally due to his ethnic background AND to his evident talent.
