Genjiro died in Japan in 1924 at the age of 57.
Genjiro fulfilled his dream of becoming a painter by coming to America over 100 years ago. In addition to learning American Impressionist painting, he introduced the Japanese culture to Cos Cob residents.
A few years ago, the late Mr. Noboru Uezumi, a Greenwich resident, discovered Genjiro. He contacted Saga TV Broadcasting Company in Japan, and they made a documentary video called Genjiro eno Tabi about Gejiro’s experiences in America.
Our team created this Kamishibai about Genjiro who loved painting which is appreciated in both Japan and America.
