National convention is almost upon us.
At the June meeting we vote to have Past Branch President Shipmate Roger Mitchell represent us at national we need to decide if we are going to instruct him as to how we want to cast our votes.
1st; Changes to the C&BL, Article 2 section 202. The primary change is to include the reserve forces and strike the words (career enlisted personnel) and replace it with (current and fromer enlisted personel) as it currently strict interpretation would render some current members ineligible to continue their membership. ie enlisted personnel who recieved a commision.
Article 3 Section 301; There are 7 Resolutions to change this the all have the appearence of wanting to open up the membership to anyone who has served in the sea services plusthe reserves and received a honorable discharge. In the passed we have decided not to support this proposal.
Article 4 Section 401; Section 401(m) establishes "capping" the age of 90 and continuous membership of 5 years; it is recommended to change to age 85 with 25 years of continuous membership.
