My "Best of all worlds" point system owes more to the Formula 1 system, spread out a bit to account for a 43-car
field. The points are alotted as follows...
1st place = 20 pts.
2nd place = 15 pts.
3rd place = 10 pts.
4th place = 8 pts
5th place = 7 pts
6th place = 6 pts
7th place = 5 pts
8th place = 4 pts
9th place = 3 pts
10th place = 2 pts
All cars that lead a lap = 1 pt
All cars that finish on lead lap = 1 pt
All cars that are running at the end = 1 pt
The only other points available are
pole position = 2 pts.
most laps led = 2 pts.
In the event that qualifying is rained out, no poins are awarded for the pole.
In the event of a points tie, the driver with the most wins gets the spot. Wins are denoted with an *
THE CHASE...
For the Chase to the Cup, my top 20 drivers had their points reset, with the 20th place driver starting at 100, and going
up 5 points per spot, and the 10th place driver starting at 200, and going up 5 points per spot. As you can see, it is possible
for a chase driver to actually finish the season out of the top 10! Of course, for that to happen, somebody out of the top
10 would have to do EXCEPTIONALLY well!
