Village
For newborn-18 mos.
(lap babies, crawlers, and walkers)
with accompanying parent/caregiver
|
The innovative program Village
incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and
connecting with other parents and babies. Kindermusik philosophy values the education of the whole mind, spirit, and body. In
Village you can expect lots of touching, embracing, a wide range of movement such as rocking and bouncing, and special
attention to vocal development through play activities. Kindermusik home materials include: a CD with all songs used in
class, a beautifully illustrated hard-cover Baby book, two colorful art banners, and instrument. Classes are held once a
week for 40 minutes. The Fall session runs 8 weeks, the Winter/Spring session runs 14 weeks with two different themes and
two complete sets of home materials.

Young Child 1-4
(for ages 4-7)
|
Meeting each week for about one hour, Young Child is the pinnacle
of the Kindermusik experience and brings children to a place where they can understand and learn about true musicianship.
Over four sequential semesters, children learn to read and write music. In addition, they study the great composers, learn
about music from our country and abroad, and have an opportunity to play and take home three instruments! During the first
year, students will study the glockenspiel. For Semester 3, we add the dulcimer, and for the final semester, we learn to
play the recorder. A sharing time at the end of each lesson for parents and siblings continues the Kindermusik tradition
of family involvement and support. Home materials for Young Child vary with each 12-14 week semester, but always include
great CDs and special folders for weekly assignments and colorful information sheets.
|
Home Materials are
mandatory supplements to classes. They allow the child and parent to continue the learning experience at home so that
music becomes a natural and important part of the family life.
