Rose Woods’ Stone Wall at Gettysburg

Stone wall at edge of Rose Woods and Wheatfield. The 17th Maine Infantry opened fire on the advancing Georgians as they approached through the woods in front of them. The Confederates eventually gained possession of this wall when the Union troops retreated late on July 2nd. |
