John Henry Alexander Hardin was born on June 26, 1834. He was a private in Company E, the "Miller Rifles," of the 8 Georgia Volunteer Infantry. His military service record summary is as follows: "Private 1862. Died of typhoid disease in Danville, Va. hospital July 27, 1862."

William Anderson Hardin, was born on April 22, 1840. He was a private in Company E, the "Miller Rifles," of the 8 Georgia Volunteer Infantry. His military service record summary: "Private May 14, 1861. Killed at Seven Days Fight near Richmond, Va. June 28, 1862."

John and William were brothers. Their parents were:
Father: Aaron Hardin, b. April 21, 1810, d. Nov. 10, 1863.
Mother: Addeline Alexander Holmes, b. April 13, 1816, d. July 5, 1845.

Aaron Hardin remarried, and was married to Mary Ann Calhoun, at the time of John and William Hardin's deaths.
