Reflections on our Reunion

My reunion memory is the gathered circle at Stewart Park. That circle of people stands as a sign of God's work and faithfulness through it all over the years. What was especially impressed on me was the many children -- once squealing youngsters, now standing before us as young adults -- the next generation and the legacy left by the Living Hope community.

I can't express in words how much I have enjoyed becoming intertwined into the beautiful quilt that is LHF. But I'll certainly give it a go. It was such a pleasure to be able to participate in this summer's reunion. To put faces to the many names that are thrown around (gently mind you) within the community. Being one of LHF's shortest members (just over 6 foot-actually just over a year), it was a real testimony for me to see people come from literally all over the world to celebrate a faith community that has meant so much to the lives of so many diverse people. It was awesome to hear the different journeys and dances that people are involved with and how LHF has integrated into these different paths. I do pray that I will have the opportunity to meet up w/ you all someday, either here in Ithaca or somewhere along the road half way around the world.

Hi......what great timing to ask us to reflect on the reunion experience!" It's a "warming" thought to remember the very warm weather of that week-end and wet, dripping swim-suits while listening to the wind blow and seeing all the snow, with the accompanying soggy, cold, wet snow pants, etc. But the memories which are even more "warming" are those of seeing all of you who came for the reason of "reunion." the weekend passed by so quickly! One of my favorite songs is a Gaither song..."We have this moment to hold in our hands, and to touch as it slips through our fingers like sand, Yesterday's gone and tomorrow may never come, But we have this moment today. "So many moments in that short span of time...we touched so many and now I treasure each touch! Thanks to everyone for being a part of those moments.

The LHF reunion was a great opportunity to get to know people I had only heard about. Great and significant conversations resulted which continue to live in my heart. I hope we do this at least every five years!

Speaking of the bash, our being there has had many benefits. In brief, it helped Jacquie tremendously and she is back in touch w/many positive aspects of her spiritual being and keeps discovering ways in which her time w/ y'all and LHF have greatly enriched her life. It is true for me as well, so once again I am deeply grateful for the time spent in Ithaca and for all the wonderful people I got to know during that time.

A magnificent tribute to everyone’s special friends, Dick and Barbara March.

Barbara and I thought it was a wonderfully successful event which provided such a special opportunity to see old friends, bask in fond memories, get brought up to date, and appreciate the great friendships we have had through LHF! And we thank everyone for making the effort to attend.
