| This Page contains information about where to get evaluation copies of some of the favorite tools used for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Internet problems. Most of these tools are Shareware, which of course means we need to support the developers so they continue to provide us with more tools to make the Microsoft Operating Systems easier to use on the Internet. |

| Name of Tools | Description of Tools |
|---|---|
| EasyMTU 2.21 and Easy Find | Easy MTU is an Excellant Program for improving Dial Up Throughput. Easy Find will determine the Maximum MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) for you! |
| FTP Pro and Wsping ProPack | Ipswitch has a number of useful tools. My favorites are FTP Pro and Wsping. Wsping provides most of the tools normally available on a UNIX on a W95 Platform |
| Net Medic | Net Medic has many capabilities, but many only work if you pay them a lot of money - the shareware version will monitor Network Connect Speed and Transmit and Receive Speeds. Another usefull measurement is the load time for Web Pages. |
| NetTerm | NetTerm is a Telnet Program which includes a "Phone Book" to keep track of all of your favorite site. NetTerm also includes a relatively simple FTP Server. |
| NetScanTools | NetScanTools is similar to WSPing. Its biggest advantage from my point of view is the NSLookup and Whois sections. |
| NeoTrace | NeoTrace will quickly provide a graphical representation of the connections between your workstation and the destination which you select. Using a combination of trace and pings NeoTrace will continuously check the connection and display the times between each point in the Network. |
| TFTP Suite | TFTP Suite from Walusoft in the UK is my favorite TFTP sofware. The Suite includes both a Client and a Server program. |
