What are Dave, Robin, Joshua and Sarah doing in the third year since they got back from Bolivia????

As I write this it is now early November. We had a little blizzard last night and this morning. We didn't get that much snow but of course it drifts a lot here. Early this morning it was almost a whiteout and some sections of road near us were closed. It started to clear up some by late morning and I got out the tractor and cleared the driveway so Robin could get in to work by the afternoon.

In August and September we passed the second anniversary of the important adoption dates, the day we first saw the kids, court dates, the day we got them home. The kids have become so mobile and so talkative it is hard to imagine them as they were when we first brought them home.

Through the spring and summer we were very busy. That has continued into the fall. I tried to take a computer class this fall at the community college but I had to drop it because we were just too busy. In September we sold my old truck, bought a new truck and then in early October we sold the Yukon. Now we are down to two vehicles. This has been a year for projects. The latest project is to get the windows on the main house replaced. The current windows were not well made and they were put in when the house was built and they are shot. There are actually places where you can see daylight through gaps in the frames. We have ordered new windows but once they are installed we will need to pull off the inside trim and re-insulate and caulk around them because a lot of our heat loss is coming from the areas around the windows, not the windows themselves. Hopefully , when we get done it will make the house warmer and lower our utility bills.

The kids are doing well. Joshua is still in physical and speech therapy. He is doing well in both. It seems like they are both really bright. We try to get them to the park or out for a walk several times a week. They have no trouble walking a mile and once they walked between two and three miles. Most of their walking has been on hiking trails in the area. I don't think we'll be able to get out as much as we have been now that the cold weather is here.

I need to get the text updated for this page.

This page will load slowly because there are so many photos on it.
