This instrument is to certify that we, EDWIN BANFIELD, MARGARET B. BARTLETT, JOSEPH McCARTHY, HENRY PULSCH and JOHN J.
SMITH, do hereby associate ourselves into a corporation under and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the Legislature
of the State of New Jersey, entitled "The Corporations and Associations Not for Profit Act" (Title 15 of the Revised Statutes
of 1937, N.J.S.A. Title 15) and the amendments therof and supplements thereto, for a lawful purpose other than pecuniary profit
as hereinafter stated, and to that end we do by this instrument certify that ----
FIRST: The name by which this incorporation shall be known in law shall be the MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY.
SECOND: The activities of this corporation shall be conducted in the Township of Middletown, in the County of Monmouth,
and State of New Jersey;
THIRD: The purposes for which this corporation is formed are: the acquiring, caring for and maintaining of historical
lands, sites, and buildings in the Township of Middletown, County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey; the improving, decorating,
beautifying, and adorning or dedicating to public use, any squares, parks, or other grounds in the Township of Middletown
in the County of Monmouth; the encouragement of the material development of the Township of Middletown in the County of Monmouth
and the public improvement of the Township of Middletown in the County of Monmouth; the establishment of museums and the promotion
of an interest in the history of the Township of Middletown in the County of Monmouth.
