Dealer's Bittersweet Surrender

MFTHBA Reg. #05-84921

Sorrel filly with star and rear sock

Born April 17, 2005

Sweetie is by a bay stud, Panhandler's Wheeler Dealer, and out of our sorrel minimal sabino mare, Wood's Sweet Vicki. Wheeler Dealer is a son of Panhandler H (Lad's Stormy Don x Sambo's Beauty) out of a daughter of The Boogie Man, and Vicki is by Wood's Victor Ace (Rawhide's Black Ace E. x Linda's Misty), a grandson of both Red Rawhide and Walker's Merry Lad. She's out of Wood's Sweet Impression (Go Boy's Impressive Red x Chief's Stepping Tiger). These Wood's-bred mares have become sought after as broodmares, and after seeing this filly we can see why!

Sweetie has tremendous presence with a proud carriage and a beautiful head like her mother's. She loves to run and foxtrots with her tail in the air and her little head bobbing. She's shy and quiet one minute and kicking up her heels the next. As she matures her mane and tail will probably turn flaxen like her dam's.

She started out very shy and wary of people, but now she's becoming so friendly she's almost a pest.

For sale for $2000.

CM's Travelin' Texas Outlaw

Born June 3, 2006

Registration Pending

Black minimal sabino colt with a stripe and heavy sabino roaning.  He will be almost a "blue roan" color when he finishes shedding out in the spring.

Outlaw is sired by our stallion Color Master out of our mare Travelin' Tootsie.  He has outstanding conformation, very well put together, square and well muscled.  He has a beautiful head with a teacup muzzle and a striking and unusual color that is rarely seen in the foxtrotter breed.  He is a very minimal sabino. His sire is homozygous for the Sb1 sabino gene and his dam is heterozygous for Sb1, so Outlaw has to have at least one copy of Sb1 himself.  His sire is homozygous for black and his dam is a sorrel, so he has to be black.  There are a lot of black sabinos in the foxtrotter breed, but not many that look like this colt.  His only white marking is a stripe on his face.  He may also have a few white hairs around one rear pastern when he finishes shedding., but he has so much sabino roaning that he is a blue roan or slate grey color-- and there is no grey or true roan anywhere in his background.  It is strictly coming from the sabino gene.

His bloodlines include Tom's Travel Master, Giles' Hot Toddy, Master Tom, The Boogie Man, Missouri's Outlaw, Missouri Traveler, Missouri Senator, Royal Rawhide, and Gold Man, among others. He's a full brother to Rhythm Master and Color Me Tootsie.

He has a cute, playful and friendly personality, and he has shown both the foxtrot and the running walk at liberty in our heavy sand paddocks.  With his conformation, personality, color and gait, he is quite a package!

CM's Texas Wildflower

Born 10/05/2006

Registration Pending

Flashy black sabino filly with a wide blaze and rear stockings.

Wildflower is sired by Color Master out of our flaxen sorrel mare Blossom. Blossom has heavy Zane Grey and Golden Governor breeding with a little Toddy's Perfection thrown in for good measure.  Wildflower is the first offspring from this cross, and we will definitely be repeating this breeding!  This filly has beautiful conformation with the solid hidquarters I like to see, and she can really move, too.  She gaits, she turns, she backs and spins-- she just loves to do it all.

She has a calm and friendly personality and loves petting, kids, cats and even the farrier. Her foal coat looked like she might possibly be bay, but once she started shedding it was clear that she's a black sabino (see shedding picture at right).

These pictures were taken when she was two days old and at one month old, so you can see that she is well muscled for her age.  She's going to be built like a tank, but with a pretty head and flashy markings.  She'll be quite a looker!

Her bloodlines include Tom's Travel Master, Giles' Hot Toddy, Master Tom, The Boogie Man, Missouri's Outlaw, Missouri Traveler, Perfection's Masterpiece, Toddy's Perfection, Zane Grey, and Lad's Super Star, among others.  To see her full pedigree, click here.

Wildflower will be for sale at weaning in the late winter or early spring of 2007.

For Sale for $2000.

Pride's Yankee Cavalier

MFTHBA Reg. #04-84666

Born May 14, 2004

Bay colt with small star and no other markings except white "frosting" in mane and tail and scattered white hairs on neck, withers, flanks and rump.

SOLD! Congratulations to B. Bollinger. Cavalier went to a great home!

Our frosty bay roan mare Warrior's Yankee Lady gave birth on May 14, 2004, to a lovely bay colt sired by Danny's Pride of Princess S., a gold champage stallion owned by Linda Vishino of Zorro Farms.  The colt has a tiny, off center star and no other markings, but he does have white "frosting" in his mane and tail and white hairs in his coat that may indicate that he carries either the rabicano or the frosty gene.

.
He's a very social, curious and sensible colt who takes everything in stride. He started foxtrotting his first time out of the barn, not surprising given the excellent gaits of both parents. He has a beautiful head and well muscled conformation. He's very independent, super-smart and impresses everyone with his fearless nature. He will likely be tall, somewhere between 15.2 and 16 hands. He is just shy of 15 hands at 22 months old. He leads, ties, bathes, stands for the farrier and trailers and he is currently with a Ray Hunt/Tom Dorrance natural horsemanship trainer for a month of ground work.

This colt is a grandson of the great Danney Joe W. through his sire. His dam is a granddaugher Warrior's Gentleman Gem and Ben's Black Ace and she also has a lot of Zane Grey and Yankee breeding. To see his sire, click here. To see his pedigree, click here.

We had planned to keep Cavalier as out second stallion, but due to health problems we have decided that we will be unable to handle two stallions at this time and we are reluctantly offering him for sale as either a stud prospect or a gelding. With his bloodlines, conformation and sensible nature he could do well on the trail or in the versatility arena, or even at model. He has a beautiful natural foxtrot but it may not be reachy enough for the show ring.

For Sale for $2800.

Rhythm Master

MFTHBA Reg. #03-80086

Black Sabino Stud Colt

Born July 25, 2003

Rhythm Master is a flashy stud colt. His sire is Color Master and his dam is Travelin' Tootsie. He's a black sabino with a wide blaze and rear stockings. He also has sabino roaning, especially on his flanks. He should mature at around 15 hands.

He has foxtrotted since birth and is a friendly and athletic young stallion.   He's a jumping and versatility prospect. He started jumping things for fun as a baby, and he now clears a 4 foot fence with no difficulty, much to our dismay. Fortunately, he respects electric fencing and won't jump our fences as long as the electric tape is hot! He's full of curiousity about the world and has a fun loving and sensible approach to life.  Not much fazes him. He is a very well built, stout young horse with excellent bone. He has a beautiful head with large, expressive eyes. He leads, ties, trailers, and will back and stand in hand. We work with him daily on his ground manners. He's had a saddle pad on a couple of times, and he didn't even seem to notice.

Rhythm's bloodlines include lots of Master Tom and Giles' Hot Toddy on top, and Missouri Traveler and Royal Rawhide on the bottom. He's a nice cross of old foundation bloodlines through his dam with well-known, more modern lines through his sire. We can't say enough good things about this colt. We would be keeping him ourselves, but since we own both his sire and his dam, it doesn't make sense for our breeding program. He's current on all vaccinations, including West Nile, and has been wormed regularly and had his feet trimmed every 6 weeks. We'll get new pictures as soon as he sheds his winter coat.

SOLD! Congratulations to Jim Bibbo of Bradford, New Hampshire!

Rhythm is standing at stud in New Hampshire and his first 3 foals were born in 2006.

Dealer's Blackjack Ace

Probable Smoky Black colt with no markings

Born April 16, 2005

Blackjack is by a bay stud, Panhandler's Wheeler Dealer, and out of our palomino mare, Stepnstone's Cream Puff. Wheeler Dealer is a son of Panhandler H (Lad's Stormy Don x Sambo's Beauty) out of a daughter of The Boogie Man, and Cream Puff is by the well-known cremello stud Cotton Eyed Joe (Golden Emperor x Golden Mae) out of Stepping Dixie (Boomerang's Allen x Doc's Dark Lady).

This colt is tall, super friendly and well put together. He has a lovely head and has foxtrotted from birth. Based on his birth color, he is very probably a smoky black, which means that he got a cream gene from his dam and if kept a stud will be able to produce palominos, buckskins and smokies.

For sale for $1800.

SOLD!

Congratulations to Hershell and Sharon Johnston of Niederwald, Texas.
