Mind's Eye Yarns carries a wide variety of natural fibers and yarns for spinning and knitting, as well as spinning wheels from Ashford and Schacht, and accessories such as drop spindles, knitting needles, and knitting bags.

We offer:

• Luxurious alpaca, mohair, silks, and camel down can be found, along with cotton chenilles and one-of-a-kind hand-dyed skeins in various materials.

Here are some of the yarns that are new for fall 2003 and spring 2004.

Whisper eyelash yarn. Made with 100% microfiber nylon, this is the softest eyelash I’ve ever worked with. You get 97 yards in a 50-gram ball. Knit it on size 9-11 needles and two will make you a scarf. Whisper is available in the colors shown here, plus a variety of bright reds and oranges, black, and pastel shades. 220 Tweed (below) is a beautiful Donegal tweed by Cascade yarns in the popular 220 worsted weight (4.5-5.5 stitches/inch). See more colors on the Cascade site.

Iceland bulky merino yarn comes in solids, as shown here, and in variegated colors. Actual yarn color may vary from photo. Colors shown here can be ordered if not in stock. (Minimum order is five skeins.)

Iceland (right) is a 100% merino bulky from Crystal Palace Yarns that comes in both solid and variegated colors. It has 109 yards/100 grams per skein and knits up at 2.5-3.5 stitches per inch on size 10.5-13 needles.

Eco Wool is another new wool from Cascade. This two-ply comes in nine natural shades from chocolate brown to natural white and is not treated with any kind of harsh chemicals. It has 478 yards/250 grams per skein and knits at 3.5 stitches per inch on a size 10 needle. Colors not in stock can be ordered by the skein. See color chart.

Choo-Choo (right) is a new novelty yarn from Crystal Palace. This airy ribbon contains 52% rayon, 30% polyester and 18% nylon. It has 92 yards/50 grams per skein and gets 4-5 stitches to the inch on 10-10.5 needles. Colors we don’t stock can be ordered in bags of 10 skeins each. See color chart.

Dream from Marks & Kattens contains 50% acrylic, 19% polyamid, 18% viscose, and 13% angora and is the softest yarn in the shop. It has 100 meters/50 grams per skein and knits up at 18 stitches per 4 inches on a size 7 needle. Colors not in stock can be ordered in bags of 10. (Color chart not available.)

Sparkle Plenty from Crystal Palace is a 70% acetate/30% Lurex blend that lives up to its name. It is a shiny, sparkly carry-along yarn good for jazzing up any project.

Sparkle Plenty comes in three colors: silver, gold, and a blue/silver/gold multi. At 1200 yards per two-ounce cone, just one will take you far. Colors not in stock can be ordered in bags of 10 skeins. (Color chart not available.)
