To open the template, click on File, choose Open and choose
the template file, click ok, and the slides will load.

in the Page Sorter column. Put the cursor at the beginning of the text you want to edit.

want and delete them by right clicking and choosing Delete. You can insert graphics
stored on your computer by clicking on Insert, then Picture File, and choose the correct picture. You can also insert graphics from the Gallery by choosing the Gallery tab (on the left,) searching for
an appropriate graphic and clicking on it. Once it appears on the slide, you
can click on it and move it around the slide to the correct location.
Move through all the slides and make the changes required. You can delete any slide that you don’t need by clicking on the slide in the
Page Sorter column, right-clicking and choose Delete Page.
You can add additional slides by clicking on the slide before,
right clicking and choose Insert Blank Page. To make this new slide, you can
right-click anywhere on the slide and choose Set Background Color. Choose the
color you like and it will change the color of the slide. Add text by clicking
on the A (Text) button, click somewhere on the slide, type in the white text box and then click elsewhere on the slide so
it “sticks.” You can click on the text box and move it to a better
location on the slide. You can also change the font, size, etc. by double-clicking
on it and using the drop down menus above the white box. To get the cursor back to normal, you need to click the arrow (Select)
button next to the camera button to “put down the pen.” You can also simply start typing! If you like the look
of a slide on the Page Sorter list, you can click on it, right-click and choose Clone.
Then modify anything on the slide as needed.
When you have finished the entire week’s slides, be
sure to click on File, choose Save as…, type in a new name for the file (such as Unit 3 Week 3) and click the Save button. This will keep the Template intact for next week.
You can also use last week’s slides as this week’s template and modify the slides as above. Just be sure that when you save to change the file name to the new week so you have the previous week for
next year!

the shape you want. You can click on the shape and use the handles to resize
it or tweek the shape (like turn a circle into an oval for a word web.) Also,
if you draw a line with the Lines button, you must click the thicker arrow (Select) to “turn it off” when you
are done.
Some Ideas
Check online for cover art of the main selection. Save the graphic to
your desktop and insert as above.
Check the Treasures web site for graphics of the books
Use digital photos of your class as graphics. Choose Insert, Picture File
and choose the location of your photo on your computer.
Search online for graphics that pertain to the week’s theme if the Gallery doesn’t have anything appropriate.
Please note: If you insert any of the sounds in the Gallery, you will not be able to e-mail the file because mp3s get
caught in the Naugy filters.
Split the themes with your grade partners and share them via e-mail.
