This work celebrates the birthday and work of Carolus Linnaeus. Carolus Linnaeus (the Latinized form of Carl von Linne) was a Swedish botanist, physician and zoologist whose work set the foundations of modern biological systematics and nomenclature. He is also considered one of the fathers of modern ecology.

In biology, binomial nomenclature is the formal method of naming species.
As the word "binomial" suggests, the scientific name of a species is formed by the combination of two terms: the genus name and the species descriptor.

In this work I have combined two very different methods of drawing; traditional and digital. Thus the title: Linne: Lineamentum compositus (Turner-Smith, 2007), a drawing made up of pieces.
