Ruth Edwards' love of nature is evident in her sensitive portrayal of wildlife, using a variety of media. In her gouache, oils, and watercolors she captures the personality of the subject while rendering it with scientific accuracy. The artist paints the natural world she loves with a familiarity acquired through years of field observations. She delights in capturing the character of her subject.

Her artist-naturalist eye and creative touch also form precious metals, ivory, clay, and gems into jewelry, lamps, and sculptures. Among her pottery works she designs and creates unique lamp bases and coordinated cut, pierced, and painted shades. The artist is the recipient of numerous awards in wildlife art shows throughout the U.S. and has work included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. All of her creations are an interpretation of an artist's response to nature.
