Thank you for your interest in our elegant beach house in lovely Truro, near the tip of Cape Cod. The house is perched on top of a dune overlooking Cape Cod Bay and the entire outermost "arm" of the Cape -- from Provincetown to Plymouth. The view will take your breath away at all times of day, in all kinds of weather. With a little luck, you may spot whales or dolphins playing close to shore as you lounge on the deck.
The sun sets across the water from our deck and living area. At dusk, the lights of Provincetown appear on the horizon, glittering like jewels in the Bay, and the beam of the famous Highland Lighthouse flashes in the ocean-side windows. Looking south across the Bay, a tiny arch of yellow lights twinkles from the Sagamore Bridge and the sky glows above the distant towns of Orleans and Hyannis.
We reach the beach by a path through the bluff -- no beach stairs to climb! It's about a four minute walk to be right at the water's edge. At high and low tides, the water is lovely for swimming; even as early as May the water is warm if the sun has been shining for a day or two. Between tides, gracefully shaped sand bars appear, bringing with them lots of beautiful shells and fascinating tidal life.
The house has a spacious central living area with a beautiful gas fire place and a large deck overlooking the water. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, with its own small deck facing the sun rise -- the perfect spot for your morning coffee. Cathedral ceilings add to the light and airy quiality of the house. Handsome antiques -- armoires, chests and beds -- charm the bedrooms. With six bedrooms (two of which are master bedrooms) and four baths, plus some extra sleeping in an open den area on the lower level, the house comfortably accomodates 12 to 16 guests. (The bedsizes are as follows: four bedrooms are furnished with a queen size bed, two bedrooms have a pair of twins, and the over-flow sleeping area has two twins and a queen size convertable sofa.)
For restaurants, entertainment, shops, galleries and groceries, Provincetown is ten minutes away and Wellfleet is fifteen minutes away. If you'd like more information about this house or our other two houses on the Bay in Truro, please call us at 617 524 6156,
