Subject: What Everyone Should Know
You are all long aware of my policy of being in the boat or in the water. It has once again been brought to my attention that someone (not one of ours) thinks he can and should be allowed to be Thunder "at large". NO. This is not acceptable period. I will not advocate that one be constrained to membership in the geographically closest clan but it is utterly unthinkable that one might even think that they could "be" RT while not belonging to any particular clan. That would be to demand all the benefits of and accept none of the responsibilities of "being" Rolling Thunder. The very idea is abhorrent, repulsive, asinine and any other term allowing of no good.
We have always admitted of no geographical boundaries when extending membership privileges to persons, whether already RT or not. I will not however, allow anyone into our clan who would knowingly disturb or even destroy the harmony of Coeur Taranis and it would be well that all other Patriarchs and Matriarchs to do likewise.
It therefore ensues that, a person who is rejected for membership from every clan to which he may apply or one who rejects membership in all clans, is purely and simply NOT a member of Rolling Thunder. We might call this a
no-brainer, yet there are still those who assume this is their privilege, it is not.
Ours is a somewhat small, though very fine and well crewed boat in a grand fleet of boats, some lesser or greater, and no matter which boat one chooses, in this vast
fleet of Rolling Thunder, we all have one fundamental thing in common we are on the boat. Those who are not, well you *know* where they are.
To all of Rolling Thunder everywhere: May your sails be fat and your larders be full.
May your holds overflow with the treasures of brotherhood and the bounty of familial love!
We have built our boats ourselves and we are proud of them; let us go forth with pride and dignity.... and if we should discover a rat onboard.... Make your own decisions but use caution lest by hoarding rats, ye spread the plague.
Love and respect,
Flynx
