On-line PDF conversion. Not
everyone can open new versions of Word, PowerPoint or Publisher documents. If you would like to
convert documents to PDF for sharing, but you don't want to download the software, just convert it on line and receive it
by e-mail. Why PDF? Just about everyone can open PDF files. PDF documents have longer
shelf life in our world of changing technologies. Adobe can "read" many text documents aloud. This can be a benefit
to the visually impaired.
RCC Catalogs 1995-97, 1999-00, and 2001-02 to 2008-09 (revised) are currently
available on line.
Predictive GPA Calculator--"What kind of grades do I need to make this semester in order to bring my GPA up to ....?" This sort
of question can be frustrating for an academician, but this table can help students better
understand cumulative GPA calculations. (You can also refer them to the formula in the Student Handbook.) This
predictive exercise can be a wake up call for your advisees. This link is also featured on
the right-hand side of the Registrar's main page. Can this be used to predict what will happen when you replace
a grade after a course has been successfully completed? Yes, with reasonable accuracy after a "clean up." Look
in STAC. Total the hours that will count toward the degree.* In the GPA calculator,
subtract the hours to be replaced. (An F will have zero hours.) Now plug the credit hours and
hoped-for grades in your "what ifs."
*When a student is established in a degree program, at
some point, the developmental course grades will be neutralized. This may actually bring a student's GPA down if grades
have fallen since the developmental work has been completed.
WebAdvisor Students should log into WebAdvisor via Campus Cruiser. If students cannot log in, refer
them to the Computing Help Desk. An inability to log in is a 48-hour excuse and should not be tolerated throughout an academic
career.
