Route: This walk is all on pavement suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Walk through Laurelhurst Park on tree-shaded paths. The park was developed by the Frederick Law Olmsted firm, and it became known as one of the loveliest on the West Coast. Lone Fir Cemetery (1K option/No pets allowed in cemetery) is one of the most interesting of the pioneer cemeteries in Multnomah County. It dates from the mid-1800s and has many old and unique memorial markers plus a small park and rose garden. Meander along Hawthorne St. with all the small eclectic shops and restaurants to Peacock Lane, a short street that is all aglow with light at Christmas time. A 5K walk rated 1+ to Normandale and Rose City Park is also available.

Route: This walk is rated 3 for natural trail and several inclines. Mt. Tabor is one of Portland’s most famous parks. Walk on top of the only extinct volcanic cinder cone in the center of a US city. Pass natural areas reservoirs and seasonally magnificent views of Portland to the West and mountains to the East. 4+K are in the park, the rest in residential areas, plus a college campus.

I-84 Eastbound to Exit 3. (NE 58th Ave.)  Right at signal, (NE Glisan St.) to NE 49th Ave.  Right to parking garage. 

I-84 Westbound to Exit 2. (NE 43rd Ave.)  Right at signal, (NE Halsey St.) to NE 47th Ave. Right to Glisan St. Left on Glisan to 49th Ave.  Left to parking garage. 

I-205 North or Southbound to Exit 21A, (NE Glisan St.)  West on NE Glisan St. to NE 49th Ave.  Right to parking garage. 

Start cabinet is located adjacent to the Security Desk in Providence Hall at the 49th Ave entry.            Open:  Daily, dawn to dusk.
