TAKING GOOD PET PHOTOS

Portraits are completed from your photos of your pet and I will need several good quality photos. The BETTER THE PHOTOS, THE BETTER THE PORTRAIT! Photos should be in color and the larger the better. I will also accept digital photos on a CD in jpeg format. When a number of photos are submitted, you can suggest the view you like best, but I will ultimately choose the photo I think will make the best portrait. If you want more than one animal in the painting, I will need a photo of the animals together to understand their proportions and scale. EXAMPLES OF GOOD PHOTOS: Sharp, clear photos with a close-up of the head and body Close up views for details with eye color and fur or feather texture visible. Taken at your pet's level, if possible. If the animal is black or very dark, take the picture inside. Experiment to see if a flash helps to define fur. Try to capture the expression or usual attitude of the pet. Photos taken by a professional photographer need to have the permission of the photographer required. Photos will be returned with the portrait.
