Payment Upon completion of the portrait, I will
contact you for a viewing. All effort will be made
to ensure that you are happy with your
portrait. Gift Certificates are available. OILS &
ACRYLICS are painted on stretched
canvas or gessoed masonite panels. They usually are
framed, but some stretched canvases are wrapped so
they do not need framing. You can specify the type
of ground you wish your portrait to be painted
on. PASTELS
are not chalk, but pure pigment
compressed into a stick. They are very soft and
somewhat fragile. Pastels are created on special,
sanded archival pastel paper.

Prices are an approximate guide and rates vary
according to the specifics of each portrait.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the
time of ordering. I accept personal checks, money
orders, certified checks or cash. The balance plus
CA sales tax (.07375%) is due upon completion. If
shipping is required, packaging and shipping
charges will be added.
Allow 6 weeks for the completion of the portrait.
I can also make blank note cards of your pet
portrait. Ask about pricing.
Oil paintings are usually varnished with an
artist's varnish after one year of drying. You can
bring the portrait back to me for varnishing or I
can tell you how to do it.
Acrylic paintings will be varnished with a polymer
varnish upon completion.
Paintings can be framed with standard size frames
which can be purchased at many crafts, art supply
stores or frame shops.
Custom framing can also be ordered.
I charge extra if you wish me to frame the painting
for you.
Pastel portraits need to be framed under glass (or
plexiglass) and usually with a mat. It is best to
have pastels professionally framed. I will charge
extra for framing a pastel portrait.
Pastels have been known to last for many hundreds
of years. I have seen wonderful pastel paintings in
museums that were created in the 1600s.
I enjoy working with pastels for pet portraits,
because the textures can be captured so nicely with
pastels.
