A very clever idea, this trend of bringing back older, out-of-work actors as parents of sitcom couples. If we assume that each parent remarried twice, then there are 12 parents and stepparents per dysfunctional couple to bring into the plot. At that rate, no actor over 50 will ever be out of work.
