What We Do

Rickster "Doin' it" for me

Rim World Video was chosen because of two personal experiences. In the "Old Days" when I started skydiving, an instructor of mine gave me this tip. "The atmosphere creates a true and false horizons when in freefall. These horizons can create what appears as the rim of a bowl as you fall closer to earth. When you find yourself in freefall passing below this rim, PULL!" This made good sense to me and I have followed his advice since. Skydive above the rim.

Later on I had the opportunity to make several trips through the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River thanks to very close skydiving friends. While we were spending the week 'down in the ditch', they refered to the space above us as "The Rim World". When the trip is over, this is the world we would be returning to.

As I spent more and more time down there, I came to realize that my two loves were above one rim (freefall) and below another rim (the canyon). My life and my business was in-between the two, in the Rim World. So one night after great day on the river (and a few drinks with the crew), I decided upon the name Rim World Video.

Videography is more than a hobby for me. I enjoy constructing a simple, clean, and safe camera system. The Cranial Camera Mount and the Rim World Video mounts, cases, and accessories I've developed has filled this desire.
