Roswell New Horizons Band

The Roswell New Horizons Band is a concert band for older and wiser adults. The Band, founded in 1998, is an affiliate of the New Horizons International Music Association, and currently has over seventy members. You can see a list of the members here, and you can hear us playing (and singing!) the New Horizons March.

The Band performs many concerts each year at a wide variety of venues—churches, retirement homes, etc. Other places we have appeared include the Mable House Barnes Amphitheater, and the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Marietta National Cemetery. We are also especially honored to have been invited twice to appear at the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Savannah. The Band rehearses each Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center, 830 Grimes Bridge Road, Roswell, Georgia. (You can find a map here.) We are always looking for new members. If you are at least fifty years old and have any interest in joining us, contact our membership chairman, Art Geist.

In addition to the Concert Band, our program also includes two Jazz Bands.

Music Camps

Each Spring the Band sponsors a Music Camp at Unicoi State Park near Helen, Georgia. This year's camp, Jazz at Unicoi '08, was held April 6-11, 2008. Here are the dates for the next four years:
