Calendar of Events from Cowtown Leathermen

While the election of Barack Obama as president brings hope for more equality and fairness for gay Americans, recent events are no cause for celebration:

  • The right for marriage equality was put to a vote in California, and gays and lesbians lost their right to marry.
  • Members of our armed forces continue to be discharged, simply for being honest about their sexual orientation.
  • In the debate over adding gays and lesbians to existing hate crimes legislation,  Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (Republican, North Carolina) claimed that those who say Matthew Shepard was murdered for being gay are perpetrating a "hoax" on the American people.

In the summer of 2009, we are not having regularly scheduled meetings.  We are available to you Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm by telephone at 817-877-5544 to answer your questions and concerns.
