As a professional working with many different types of people, chances are you encounter those who would benefit from professional psychological help.
You might be an attorney, physician, mental health professional, case manager, or care provider. If you recognize a client or patient who is struggling with mental health symptoms, you will want to make a referral to another provider who can work with him or her in therapy. You want to make sure your clients and patients are getting their needs met, and psychotherapy may help them improve their emotional health.
How We Can Help You…
At The Center for Forensic & Clinical Psychology, our qualified staff of psychologists and clinical associates can provide therapy to a variety of clients via the following services:
Individual therapy
Our Center accepts referrals for individual psychotherapy of children, adolescents and adults. Mental health providers and other professionals who refer patients and clients to The Center for Forensic & Clinical Psychology can expect these individuals to receive the highest level of care and confidential services from experienced therapists.
We provide individual therapy tailored to patients’ specific needs, and our sliding scale fee can be adjusted to accommodate their budget. Individual sessions occur on a weekly basis for 50 minutes and there is no limitation placed on the length of treatment.
Our Center welcomes referrals for married and non-married couples seeking counseling services. Attorneys, mental health providers, and other professionals often encounter couples experiencing conflict, communication problems, and other relationship difficulties.
If you are one of the aforementioned professionals, you do not always have the time, means and/or resources to help your patients and clients resolve their relationship problems. The Center for Forensic & Clinical Psychology can assist you by providing those important therapeutic services and interventions.
Our staff is trained to help couples develop a more intimate, satisfying, and healthy relationship, and overcome potential conflicts outside the context of therapy. As a professional, you can benefit from your clients’ improved communication and conflict resolution skills.
The Center for Forensic & Clinical Psychology consults with professionals, such as attorneys and mental health providers, working with families who are in need of therapeutic services.
Often legal professionals who encounter issues such as divorce, domestic violence, child abuse, and substance abuse are aware that these problems go beyond individuals and impact entire families.
Professionals dealing with patients and clients or family units facing similar issues can refer them to our Center for consultation, counseling, and treatment. These individuals will benefit significantly from learning and implementing coping strategies and skills tailored to different ages and roles within a family, which in turn can improve your contact with the client. Moreover, courts often order therapeutic parenting time and reintegration services between parents and their children.
Our Center welcomes these referrals and our experienced staff will accommodate both attorneys and patients and clients, while informing judicial officials or caseworkers of progress and making recommendations, if appropriate.
Therapeutic Assessment Services
The majority of mental health providers treating clients in therapy encounter phases in treatment when their clients seem to be stuck.
These occasions in treatment, when progress toward therapeutic goals and objectives is either slow or absent, can lead to client termination. Therapeutic assessment is a recent trend in modern psychotherapy that utilizes psychological tests within a collaborative examiner-examinee relationship.
This approach can serve as a catalyst for a slow-moving treatment process. Our Center has associates trained to apply this approach and welcomes referrals from the professional community.
The combination of therapeutic and assessment services can be a powerful intervention that respects patient's wishes and places decisions in their hands, while assisting their treating providers to arrive at novel insights and formulations which can inform future therapy directions.
